During the past week, demand in the local Turkish hot dip galvanized (HDG) coil market has continued to be characterized by sluggishness since market players are still cautious about making fresh bookings. Although the current price levels are considered to be on the high side, Turkish coated steel mills have increased their prices by $10/mt week on week due to the uptrend of domestic hot rolled coil (HRC) prices.

Domestic producers’ HDG prices in the local Turkish market, excluding 18 percent VAT, are currently as follows:

Product

Price ($/mt)

Weekly change ($/mt)

HDG   0.50 mm  100gr/m²

840-870

↑10

HDG   1 mm  100gr/m²

795-820

↑10

HDG   2 mm  100gr/m²

760-775

↑10

Meanwhile, Turkish mills’ HDG export quotations have increased by $10/mt over the past week to $830-860/mt FOB.
