According to market sources, demand in the Turkish domestic hot dip galvanized (HDG) coil market has continued its weak trend since Ramadan holiday. Market players report that $5/mt of discounts are available depending on buyers and transaction volume, especially for medium thickness specifications. Demand is expected to rise in the Turkish HDG market after the presidential elections on August 10.
In the Turkish domestic market, HDG sales prices have remained unchanged over the past week and are still as follows:
Product | Price ($/mt) |
HDG 0.50 mm 100gr/m² | 790-810 |
HDG 1 mm 100gr/m² | 740-760 |
HDG 2 mm 100gr/m² | 725-730 |
The above prices, which may differ depending on product quality, are ex-works, exclude VAT, and are for advance payments.
On the other hand, demand for Turkish HDG exports is still weak. Market sources state that demand in Turkish HDG producers' target markets is poor due to overhaul works continuing in the CIS and traditional summer holiday season in other markets. Meanwhile, August production Turkish HDG export prices have remained unchanged since last week at $775-790/mt FOB.
