Demand is still sluggish in the local Turkish pre-painted galvanized iron (PPGI) market, while prices have remained stable over the past week. Declining Chinese export offers are expected to cause a softening in local Turkish PPGI prices - and also in local prices of other flat steel products - after the Feast of Sacrifice holiday (October 3-7).

Turkish mills' local offers for RAL 9002 0.3 mm 100 gr/m² zinc-coated PPGI are standing at $1,020-1,060/mt, while offers for RAL 9002 0.5 mm are at $880-920/mt and prices for RAL 9002 1 mm stand at $800-830/mt. All the offers in question are on ex-works basis and exclude 18 percent VAT.

In the meantime, demand for Turkish PPGI exports is still limited, while PPGI offers from Turkey to the export markets are currently in the range of $870-910/mt FOB for November production.
