After registering a recovery early this week, demand in the Vietnamese flat steel market has started to soften again toward the end of the week. Accordingly, buyers in the local market are not sure about whether to conclude deals at the current time.

Hot rolled coil (HRC) prices in the Vietnamese domestic market, meanwhile, stand at VND 12,800-13,000/kg($607-617/mt) ex-warehouse, while cold rolled coil (CRC) prices are at VND 15,300-15,400/kg ($726-730/mt) ex-works. Meanwhile, rerolling quality HRC of 2 mm thickness are being quoted at VND 13,200-13,300/kg ($626-631/mt) ex-warehouse. The prices have indicated increases of VND 200-350/kg ($9-17/mt) since last week.

On the other hand, Chinese offers to Vietnam are at $540-545/mt CFR for HRC and at $570-580/mt CFR for rerolling quality HRC of 2 mm thickness.
