According to market sources, demand in the local pre-painted galvanized (PPGI) coil market in Turkey has once again slowed down after the slight improvement recorded in the market last week. Turkish buyers believe negative pressure on coated products will continue to be observed due to the downward trend of hot rolled coil (HRC) prices in the global markets. Therefore, Turkish buyers are being cautious when it comes to purchases and, although $5-10/mt discounts are heard to be available for large volumes, the official prices have remained unchanged over the past week. Currently, Turkish mills' local prices for RAL 9002 0.3 mm 100 gr/m² zinc-coated PPGI are standing at $885-905/mt, while offers for RAL 9002 0.5 mm are at $770-790/mt and prices for RAL 9002 1 mm stand at $705-725/mt. All the offers in question are on ex-works basis, exclude 18 percent VAT, and are for February and March production.

On the other hand, demand for Turkish PPGI exports has been slack over the past week, while ex-Turkey PPGI offers have also remained unchanged week on week in the range of $770-790/mt FOB for deliveries in February and March.
