SteelOrbis has been informed that in the current week market players have started to return to the Vietnamese flat steel market, though demand has remained weak.

Hot rolled coil (HRC) prices in the Vietnamese domestic market are at VND 12,200-12,250/kg ($576-579/mt) ex-warehouse, while cold rolled coil (CRC) prices are at VND 15,200-15,300/kg ($718-723/mt) ex-works, both indicating no change over the past week. Meanwhile, prices of rerolling quality HRC of 2 mm thickness have decreased by VND 150/kg ($7/mt) over the same period and are now in the range of VND 12,600-12,800/kg ($595-605/mt) ex-warehouse.

On the other hand, Chinese offers to Vietnam have increased by $10/mt over the past week and are at $530/mt CFR for HRC, while Chinese offers for rerolling quality HRC of 2 mm thickness still stand at $545/mt CFR.
