During the week ending May 22, Chinese domestic hot dip galvanized (HDG)prices have moved sideways for thick specifications, while indicating slight downticks for thin specifications. Transaction activity in the past week has remained sluggish. Average HDG prices in the local Chinese market can be viewed in the SteelOrbis price reports section.

During the given week, transaction activities of most traders in the Chinese domestic HDG market have only been at 70 percent of normal activity levels. Since demand remains sluggish, traders are unwilling to place orders and so the volumes of materials circulating in the market have been at low levels. Meanwhile, tight liquidity in the spot market has also contributed to the sluggishness of activity in the HDG market. It is thought that HDG prices in the Chinese domestic market will indicate slight declines in the coming week due to lackluster demand.
