Demand on the weak side in Vietnamese flat steel market

SteelOrbis has been informed that demand has been quiet in the Vietnamese flat steel market while transaction activity has slowed down due to rainy weather.
 
Hot rolled coil (HRC) prices in the Vietnamese domestic market have decreased by VND 200/kg ($9/mtg) over the past month, to VND 12,200-12,250/kg ($576-579/mt) ex-warehouse, while cold rolled coil (CRC) prices have decreased by VND 100/kg ($5/mt) over the same period, to VND 15,200-15,300/kg ($718-723/mt) ex-works. Meanwhile, prices of rerolling quality HRC of 2 mm thickness have also decreased by VND 200/kg ($9/mt) and are now in the range of VND 12,800-12,900/kg ($605-609/mt) ex-warehouse.
 
On the other hand, Chinese offers to Vietnam have increased by $4/mt over the same period and are at $518-520/mt CFR for HRC, while Chinese offers for rerolling quality HRC of 2 mm thickness still stand at $535-537/mt CFR.
