Demand fails to register improvement in Turkish PPGI market

Even spring has arrived, demand in the Turkish pre-painted galvanized iron (PPGI) market has not recorded the expected recovery, instead remaining on the poor side. Turkish market players have stated that mills have reflected the discounts that were available for actual buyers in their list prices, but that even this situation has not contributed to any improvement in demand. Local and export prices for PPGI have decreased by $30-40/mt since last week.
 
Turkish mills' offers for RAL 9002 0.3 mm 100 gr/m² zinc-coated PPGI are now standing at $1,070-1,140/mt, while offers for RAL 9002 0.5-0.55 mm are at $925-940/mt and prices for RAL 9002 1 mm stand at $840-880/mt. All the offers in question are on ex-works basis and exclude 18 percent VAT.
