Over the past week, purchases in the local Turkish hot dip galvanized (HDG) coil market have continued, with demand at good levels. As a result of the upward movement seen in global flat steel and raw material prices as well as the rises recorded in domestic hot rolled coil (HRC) quotations in Turkey, production costs of local Turkish coated coil producers have increased, causing them to raise their HDG prices compared to last week.
Domestic producers’ HDG prices in the local Turkish market, excluding 18 percent VAT, are currently as follows:
Product |
Price ($/mt) |
Weekly Change ($/mt) |
HDG 0.50 mm 100gr/m² |
750-780 |
+20 |
HDG 1 mm 100gr/m² |
705-730 |
+20 |
HDG 2 mm 100gr/m² |
670-685 |

Meanwhile, Turkish HDG prices in the export markets have also increased in parallel with the rise in domestic quotations. Also, international buyers are still concluding purchases of Turkish HDG. Turkish mills’ HDG export quotations have increased by $20/mt week on week to $740-770/mt FOB.
