Although there have been some plate deals in the UAE, end-user demand is still not sufficiently strong in this country.
While the latest ex-Ukraine commercial grade plate deals to the UAE have been at $460/mt CFR Dubai for August shipment, we will see more clearly in the upcoming weeks whether last week's offer price increase of $15/mt for ex-Ukraine material will be accepted in the UAE. On the other hand, ex-South Korea offers to the UAE are currently at $540/mt CFR Dubai for August-September shipment.
Meanwhile, no ex-India plate offers to the UAE are heard for the time being, mainly because the Indian producers are choosing to sell their materials in their own local market which is currently showing a positive performance.
