Demand for coated flat steel products in Italy continues to remain sluggish, causing coated steel prices to move downwards, similar to other local flat steel product prices.

Recent pre-painted sheet transactions from Italy to Russia have helped prices in the domestic market to gain clarity, while coated flat steel prices in the Italian domestic market have decreased by about €15-20/mt ($19-25/mt). In the meantime, import offers have shown no change as compared to last week.

Accordingly, 0.6 mm hot dip galvanized (HDG) prices in the Italian domestic market are now at €670-675/mt ($827-833/mt), while prices for 100 gr/m² zinc coated RAL 9001 pre-painted sheet of 0.6 mm thickness are standing at €830-835/mt ($1,024-1,030/mt), both ex-warehouse.

Meanwhile, SteelOrbis has learned from market sources that Indian 0.6 mm PPGI offers to Italy are still standing at €800/mt ($987/mt) CFR, while Indian offers for 0.6 mm hot dip galvanized (HDG) sheet are at €650/mt ($802/mt) CFR.
