During the week ending November 12, Chinese cold rolled coil (CRC) export prices have indicated a declining trend, though hot rolled coil (HRC) export prices have remained stable at low levels. At present, export offers for boron-added 5.75 mm HRC given by Chinese suppliers are at $260-270/mt FOB, while export offers for 1.0 mm CRC given by Chinese suppliers are in the range of $290-310/mt FOB.
The previous declines in export prices for Chinese flat steel have not resulted in any significant improvements in transaction activities and so exporters have been less inclined to reduce their prices. However, iron ore prices have continued to indicate a soft trend, exerting a negative impact on export prices of CRC and hot rolled plate (HRP) in the week in question.
