During the week ending March 31, the average export offers prices for Chinese hot rolled coil (HRC) and cold rolled coil (CRC) have softened, while the range of traders' prices has expanded. At present, export offers for boron-added 5.75 mm hot rolled coil given by Chinese suppliers are at $360-395/mt FOB, while export offers for 1.0 mm cold rolled coil given by Chinese suppliers are in the range of $400-430/mt FOB.
During the given week, amid the fluctuating trend seen in the Chinese domestic HRC market, HRC and CRC exporters in China have become more cautious and are now less inclined to give offer prices, with some slightly reducing their offer prices and others suspending their offers. At the same time, buyers in the overseas markets are mostly adopting a wait-and-see stance, resulting in sluggish transaction activity for Chinese flat steel exports.
