Purchasing activities in the Turkish PPGI market, which had been postponed due to the March 30 municipal elections in Turkey, have now been resumed, in particular given the appreciation of the Turkish lira against the US dollar.
Turkish mills' local offers for RAL 9002 0.3 mm 100 gr/m² zinc-coated PPGI are standing at $1,005-1,080/mt, while offers for RAL 9002 0.5 mm are at $865-925 /mt and prices for RAL 9002 1 mm stand at $785-845/mt. All the offers in question are on ex-works basis and exclude 18 percent VAT.
In the meantime, ex-Turkey offers for April production PPGI are still at $850-920/mt FOB, indicating no changes since last week. Attractive Chinese and Indian PPGI offers to Turkey's target export destinations have continued to erode price levels. While HDG demand from the target export destinations has increased, strong competition prevents the price increase recorded in the Turkish domestic market from being reflected in export prices.
