Brazil heavy structural plates prices should increase by 5 percent, effective on 15 January, sources told SteelOrbis.

“Gerdau has increased heavy structural plates prices by 5 percent, effective on 15 January. We believe prices should remain stable in the first quarter,” a Sao Paulo-based distributor said.

According to the source, A36 heavy structural plates are being traded at FOB BRL 2073/mt ($770/mt). With the 5 percent hike, prices should reach up to FOB BRL 2167/mt ($ 804,93), not including local taxes.
