Brazilian exports of HRC reached 211,800 mt in September against 114,300 mt in August, according to the ministry of development, industry and foreign trade, MDIC.
The higher volume reflects exports by ArcelorMittal Tubarao increasing by 87 percent to 207,700 mt, while exports by Usiminas increased by 86 percent to 3,300 mt and exports by Gerdau Acominas declined by 46 percent to 600 mt.
The main destinations of the Brazilian HRC in September were the EU (158,100 mt) and South America (53,700 mt).
The average FOB export price was stable at $406/mt, with a wide variety of prices according to the exporter: ArcelorMittal at $401/mt, Usiminas at $721/mt and Gerdau at $363/mt, all FOB conditions, with price deals probably closed on July.
The most recent price deals for the export of HRC of the basic commercial grades are being reportedly closed in the range of $420/mt to $430/mt, FOB conditions.
