Brazilian HRC exports increase in May

Brazil exported 123,900 mt of HRC in May, 44 percent more than in April. The main exporters were ArcelorMittal (74,400 mt at $499/mt) and CSN (45,000 mt at $534/mt), while Usiminas exported 4,400 mt at $756/mt, all FOB conditions, with price deals probably closed in March.

The EU was the main destination (45,800 mt), followed by Latin America (45,000 mt), Turkey (26,600 mt) and the Middle East (6,300 mt).

The most recent HRC export deals are being closed in Brazil at the level of $480/mt, FOB conditions, for the product of the basic commercial grades, a local exporter told SteelOrbis.
