Brazil exported 31,300 mt of hot dipped galvanized products (HDG) in July, 40 percent more than in June, at an average FOB price 15 percent lower, $692/mt, reflecting price deals probably closed in May.
Most of the volume, 22,700 mt, was exported by CSN to clients in the US, at $708/mt FOB, while Usiminas exported 3,700 mt at $666/mt FOB and ArcelorMittal exported 2,100 mt at $673/mt FOB; total exports by CSN reached 25,400 mt in July.
Destinations other than the US were South America (7,200 mt) and the EU (1,400 mt).
According to an exporter, the most current deal for the export of HDG from Brazil was closed at $756/mt, FOB conditions, with reference to the G40 grade, stable since an 8 percent increase in early July.
Meanwhile, Brazil imported 8,300 mt of HDG in July, four times the volume of June, of which 4,900 mt from China at $568/mt, FOB conditions.
