Brazil exported 15,800 mt of Galvalume in December, against 1,900 mt in November, at an average FOB price of $808/mt, FOB conditions, 6 percent less than the average of November, with price deals probably closed in October.

According to the ministry of industry, foreign trade and services, MDIC, the exports were almost entirely by CSN and destined to the US (9,400 mt at $846/mt) and Argentina (6,100 mt at $751/mt).

A local exporter confirmed to SteelOrbis that he is exporting Galvalume at $824/mt, FOB conditions, the same price since December 1, 2016.

Meanwhile, Brazil imported from China in December 15,500 mt of Galvalume and similar aluminum-zinc coated products at $594/mt, FOB conditions, a 23 percent reduction in volume but following a stable price trend.

The Brazilian imports of Galvalume, despite the reduced domestic demand, remain pushed by the domestic prices, which usually exceed the equivalent to $1,000/mt, ex-works, full taxes except IPI.
