Brazilian exports of HDG declined in April

Brazil exported 30,600 mt of hot dipped galvanized products (HDG) in April, 29 percent less than in March, in average at a stable price of $825/mt FOB.
 
CSN was the top exporter with 22,600 mt at $813/mt, followed by Usiminas with 4,200 mt at $797/mt and by ArcelorMittal with 3,600 mt at $880/mt, all FOB conditions, with price deals probably closed in February.
 
The main destinations were the US (25,000 mt at $792/mt), and Latin America (5,400 mt at $862/mt, of which 4,000 mt shipped to Argentina at $879/mt), all FOB conditions.
 
According to a local exporter, the most recent HDG export deals remain negotiated at $770/mt, FOB conditions, with the G40 grade as reference.
 
Meanwhile, Brazil imported 8,500 mt of HDG from China in April at $687/mt, FOB conditions.
