During the week ending September 30, pre-painted galvanized iron (PPGI) quotations in the Chinese domestic market have moved on a stable trend, while transaction activity in the domestic market has been at decent levels. Average PPGI prices in the local Chinese market are presented in the following table.
During the given week, domestic PPGI prices have moved on a stable trend as market players have mostly been maintaining a wait-and see stance in terms of prices ahead of the National Day Holiday (October 1-7). Demand has been at decent levels before the holiday as downstream users have been replenishing their inventories. Due to the new regulations aimed at tackling overloading of vehicles during road transportation, costs of PPGI are expected to increase. It is thought that PPGI prices in the Chinese domestic market will follow a stable trend during the holiday and increase afterwards.
