On March 17, Shanghai-based Chinese steelmaker Baosteel issued its new ex-works prices for CR products for April 2010. The details are as follows:
•1. The prices of hot rolled pickled products (which are base products for cold rolled production) are unchanged from March levels, with the current SPHC 3.0 mm x 1,250 mm x C hot rolled pickled product price at RMB 4,897/mt ($718/mt).
•2. The prices of common carbon cold rolled steel are unchanged for both automotive and non-automotive applications. The current ex-mill price for SPCC 1.0 mm x 1,250 mm x C CRC remains at RMB 5,826/mt ($854/mt), with the price of DC04 1.0 mm x 1,250 mm x C CRC at RMB 7,276/mt ($1,067/mt).
•3. Hot dip galvanized steel prices are unchanged for both automotive and non-automotive applications. The current ex-mill price for DC51D 1.0 mm x 1,250 mm x C HDG steel remains stable at RMB 5,577/mt ($818/mt).
•4. Electrical galvanized steel prices are unchanged for both automotive and non-automotive applications. The current ex-works price for SECC 1.0 mm x 1,250 mm x C electrical galvanized steel is RMB 7,317/mt ($1,073/mt).
•5. Galvalume prices are unchanged compared with March levels.
•6. Prices are unchanged for both non-oriented electrical steel and grain-oriented electrical steel. The current ex-works price for B50A800 0.5 mm non-oriented electrical steel thereby remains at RMB 6,710/mt ($984/mt).
All the above prices include 17 percent VAT and are for reference only, effective as of March 17, 2010. In case of any discrepancy, Baosteel's official announcement shall prevail.
