On April 19, Chinese steel giant Baosteel issued its prices for flat steel products for the month of May. The details are as follows (comparisons are with April prices):
1. HR products
Baosteel's new prices are unchanged from April levels. The prices of products from Baosteel Group Shanghai Meishan Co.,Ltd have increased by RMB 200/mt ($29/mt)
2. Pickling products
Prices have increased by RMB 200/mt ($29/mt). Products from the stainless steel division have increased by RMB 150/mt ($22/mt)
3. CR products
Baosteel's base prices for non-automotive steel and auto steel have both increased by RMB 200/mt ($29/mt). Prices of products from Baosteel Group Shanghai Meishan Co.,Ltd will have a discount of RMB 500/mt($73/mt) based on Baosteel's general prices
4. HDG
Base prices of non-automotive steel and auto steel have both increased by RMB 200/mt ($29/mt. Prices of products from Baosteel Group Shanghai Meishan Co.,Ltd have increased by RMB 200/mt ($29/mt)
5. Electro-galvanized
Base prices of non-automotive steel and auto steel have both increased by RMB 200/mt ($29/mt)
6. Color coated
Prices have increased by RMB 600/mt ($88/mt)
7. Heavy plate
Ship plate steel prices have increased by RMB 400/mt ($59/mt), with other categories increasing by RMB 500/mt ($73/mt)
The above prices do not include tax and are effective from April 19, 2010.
