Major Chinese steelmaker Baosteel has issued its prices for carbon steel flat products for delivery in March. The details are as follows (comparisons are with February delivery prices):
1. Hot rolled coil (HRC):
Prices have remained stable, with a discount of $16/mt for contracts signed before February 18 and a discount of $8/mt for contracts signed before February 24.
2.Hot rolled pickled products:
1) Prices of products from Baosteel's main steel production base are up $9/mt.
2) Prices of products from Baosteel's Shanghai-based subsidiary Meishan Steel are up $9/mt.
3) Prices of products with mill edge are $9/mt lower than prices of products with trimmed edge.
4) A discount of $4/mt will be applied for contracts signed before February 21.
3. Cold rolled (CR) products:
1) Prices of common quality (CQ) products (except products used in the auto industry) from the main steel base are up $8/mt, while the prices of other products are up $13/mt.
2) There is a discount of $8/mt for contracts signed before February 14, with a $4/mt discount for contracts signed before February 20.
4. Hot dip galvanized (HDG):
1) Prices of common quality (CQ) products, S series structural steel products and hot rolled pickled HDG from the main steel base are up $8/mt, while the prices of other products have remained stable.
5. Electro-galvanized (EG) products:
1) Prices of common quality (CQ) products are up $16/mt, while the prices of other products are up $8/mt.
2) There is a discount of $9/mt for contracts signed before February 10, with a $4/mt discount for contracts signed before February 20.
All the above price changes are effective from February 11 and exclude 17
percent VAT.
