Major Chinese steelmaker Baosteel has issued its prices for carbon steel flat products for delivery in July. The details are as follows (comparisons are with June delivery prices):
1. Hot rolled coil (HRC):
Prices of products from Baosteel's main steel production base have remained stable.
2. Hot rolled pickled products:
a) Prices of products from Baosteel's main steel production base have decreased by RMB 150/mt ($24/mt).
b) Prices of products from Baosteel's Shanghai-based subsidiary Meishan Steel have decreased by RMB 100/mt ($16/mt).
3. Cold rolled (CR) products:
a) Prices of cold rolled products from the main steel base have remained unchanged.
b) Products from Meishan Steel are RMB 100/mt ($16/mt) lower in price than products from the main steel base.
c) Prices of double-layer welded pipe and ultra-high strength steel have remained stable in Q3 compared to Q2.
4. Hot dip galvanized (HDG):
a) Prices of HDG from the main steel base have remained unchanged, though prices of HDG with zinc-iron alloy coating are now RMB 100/mt ($16/mt) higher than prices of common grades, while previously they were RMB 200/mt ($32/mt) higher.
b) Prices of HDG from Meishan Steel have remained stable.
c) Ultra-high strength steel has been reduced in price by RMB 150/mt ($24/mt) for Q3 compared to Q2.
5. Electro-galvanized (EG) products:
Prices of common quality (CQ) products are unchanged.
6. Galvalume:
Prices have remained stable.
7. PPGI
PPGI prices for Q3 are unchanged from Q2 levels.
8. Non-grain-oriented (NGO) electrical steel prices:
Prices have remained unchanged.
9. Grain-oriented (GO) electrical steel prices:
Prices of 27R and 23R series have increased by RMB 200/mt ($32/mt), while prices of other products have remained unchanged.
All the above price changes are effective from June 11 and exclude 17 percent VAT
