On July 15, Liaoning Province-based Chinese steelmaker Angang Steel announced its ex-mill flat steel prices for August. The details are as follows (comparisons being with July levels):
1. HRC prices are down by RMB 350/mt ($52/mt). Thus, SPHC 3.1 mm × 1,000-1,199 mm low carbon material costs RMB 3,510/mt ($518/mt) (after tax: RMB 4,106.7/mt ($606/mt)) and Q235 5.5 ×1,500 mm carbon HRC costs RMB 3,370/mt ($497/mt) (after tax: RMB 3,942.9/mt ($581/mt)).
2. CRC prices are down RMB 450/mt ($66/mt). As a result, the price of SPCC 1.0 mm x 1,250 mm is RMB 4,190/mt ($619/mt) (after tax: RMB 5, 148/mt ($759/mt)).
3. Galvanized coil prices have decreased by RMB 350/mt ($52/mt), with ST01Z 1.0 mm galvanized coil now costing RMB 4,400/mt ($649/mt) (after tax: RMB 5,148/mt ($759/mt)).
4. Pre-painted material prices are down by RMB 200/mt ($29/mt); thus, the price of TDX51D+Z 0.5 mm pre-painted steel is RMB 5,750/mt ($848/mt) (after tax: RMB 6,727.5/mt ($992/mt)).
5. Medium plate prices have been cut by RMB 300/mt ($44/mt), and so Q235A 20 mm common carbon medium plate produced by the company's medium plate production line costs RMB 3,450/mt ($509/mt) (after tax: RMB 4,036.5/mt ($595/mt)); Q235A 20 mm common carbon medium plate produced on the heavy plate production line costs RMB 3,470/mt ($512/mt) (after tax: RMB 4,059.9 ($599/mt)).
6. Silicon electrical steel prices are down by RMB 700/mt ($103/mt)
7. Wire rod prices have decreased by RMB 300/mt ($44/mt).
All the above prices are ex-mill and are effective from August 1.
