Angang Steel raises its flat steel prices for September

On August 16, Liaoning Province-based Chinese steelmaker Angang Steel announced upward adjustments to its ex-mill flat steel prices for September. The details are as follows (comparisons being with the mill's August prices):

1. Hot rolled coil (HRC) prices are up by RMB 350/mt ($51/mt). Thus, Angang Steel's new price of low carbon SPHC 3.1 mm × 1,000-1,199 mm is RMB 3,860/mt ($568/mt) and its price of common carbon Q235 5.5 mm × 1,500 mm is RMB 3,720/mt ($547/mt).

2. Cold rolled coil (CRC) prices have been raised by RMB 350/mt ($51/mt). As a result, the price of SPCC 1.0 mm × 1,250 mm is RMB 4,540/mt ($668/mt).

3. Galvanized coil prices have been increased by RMB 400/mt ($58/mt), with the new price of ST01Z 1.0 mm galvanized coil at RMB 4,800/mt ($706/mt).

4. Pre-painted steel prices are up by RMB 200/mt ($29/mt), with the new price of TDX51D+Z 0.5 mm pre-painted steel at RMB 5,950/mt ($876/mt).

5. Medium plate prices have been raised by RMB 330/mt ($48/mt), and so the price of Q235A 20 mm common carbon medium plate is RMB 3,800/mt ($559/mt). In addition, the base price of shipbuilding plate is up RMB 380/mt ($55/mt).

6. Silicon steel prices are up by RMB 1,000/mt ($147/mt), with the price of 50AW800 0.5 mm × 1,000 mm × C silicon steel as a result rising to RMB 6,670/mt ($982/mt)

7. Wire rod prices have gone up by RMB 300/mt ($44/mt), with the price of Q235 6.5 mm high speed wire rod now at RMB 3,710/mt ($546/mt)

All the above prices are ex-mill and do not include 17 percent VAT. The prices are effective from September 1.
