As of April 20, steel plate prices in the Chinese domestic market indicate a decrease compared to one week ago, while transaction activity in the market has been slack. Average steel plate prices in China can be viewed in the SteelOrbis price reports section.

At the beginning of the week in question, due to the sharp rebound seen in the finished steel futures market, some domestic steel plates price rose slightly, while demand did not show significant improvement. With a downtrend seen in the finished steel futures market from the middle of the given week, buyers mostly began to adopt a wait-and-see stance towards the market, resulting in reduced transaction activity and declines in steel plate prices. As inventory levels in the steel plate market are not at high levels, local steel plate prices are unlikely to continue their downward movement. It is expected that steel plates prices in the Chinese domestic market will move sideways in the coming week.
