Turkish automotive sector exports up by 46.6%

Turkish automotive sector materialized its exports of 71.6% to 24 member states of the European Union (EU) in the first eight months of the year. No exports were made to Greek Cypriot side, but the market share of the automotive sector amounts to 74% when candidate countries Romania and Bulgaria were added. In Jan-Aug period, Turkish automotive sector exported to a total of 172 countries in the five continental, self-governing territories and 14 free zones as well as developed western countries. According to the data of Uludag Exporters Union (UIB), total exports reached $6.6 billion in the first eight months of the year, up by 46.6% compared to $4.51 billion recorded in the same period of last year.
