Turkish automotive capacity utilization at 73%

Capacity utilization (CUR) in the Turkish automotive industry reached 73% in the past 11 months of this year supported by rapidly rising exports and the healthy domestic market. After the 2001 crisis, CUR was 29% at the 17 members of the Automotive Industry Association, compared to 35% in 2002, 52% in 2003 and 72% in the first half of this year. The CUR at Turkish Ford Otosan was 93%, followed by Turkish Oyak Renault at 90% and Toyota at 87%.
