Turkey’s exports to US reach $3.7 billion in 2003

According to the statement made by the Turkish Exporters Assembly (TIM), Turkey's exports to US amounted to $3.74 billion in 2003 and imports from US reached $3.42 billion. The trade volume was under the potential, although the trade between the two countries showed an upward trend during the last ten years. In this period, the foreign trade volume between Turkey and US increased by 15% annually. When the sectoral dispersion is examined in Turkey's imports from US and exports to this country, consumption goods constitutes the main item of the exports with 53% while intermediate goods accounts for 55% of the imports from US.
