Turkey’s exports to UK rise in the first half
Turkey increased its exports by $7.7 billion to $29.4 billion in the first half of the year. In this period, the largest contribution came from
UK.
According to Turkish Exporters Assembly (TIM) figures, exports to
UK soared by $781 million to $2.43 billion in the mentioned period. This growth promoted
UK to second place in terms of
Turkey's largest export markets. Last year,
UK ranked in the third place after
Germany and US.
Turkey exported $1.64 billion to
UK in the first half of 2003.
Turkey's total exports were up by 36.5% in this period while the increase in exports to
UK materialized as 47.5%.
Turkey's exports to
Germany recorded a $692 million of growth in Jan-Jun 2004 period. Exports to the
Germany reached $4.18 billion, indicating a rise of 19.9% compared to $3.49 billion recorded in the same period of last year.
