Turkey’s CUR reaches highest level in September

Turkey's capacity utilization rate (CUR) in the manufacturing industry reached 84.8% in September. Accordingly CUR increased to highest level of the last seven years. The major improvement in the CUR grew out from increase in the private sector CUR. The private sector CUR rose to 83.1% from 79.9% recorded in the same period of last year. On the other hand, public sector CUR dropped to 87.4% from 89.5%. Looking at the sub-sectors, both export and investment demand remained strong throughout September. CUR in the automotive sector reached %85.6, in the private machinery and equipment to 91.8% and in the textile sector to 86.7%. September export figure and domestic sales data confirms this situation. According to Turkish Exporters Assembly data, export figure reached $5.8 billion in September, indicating a rise of 36.5% from a year earlier.
