Turkey to become a second China

The Economist's chief editor Bill Emmot expects the EU countries to make a positive decision about starting accession talks with Turkey. The EU countries will convince their citizens about the accession within the next 10 years, Emmot added. Emmot expects Turkey's gross domestic product (GDP) to increase by two fold within 10 years. ''The Chinese economy has gained strength over the European economy. If the Chinese can do it, why can't the Turkish economy do it?'', Emmot said.
