Swiss GDP up by 0.4% in Q1

The Swiss state secretariat for economic affairs said Switzerland's first quarter GDP (Gross Domestic Product) surged by 0.4% from the fourth quarter and increased by 1.5% compared to the same period of last year. The three months' rise is attributed to the positive development of exports and expansion of private consumption. For the full year, the state secretariat expects GDP to grow by 1.8% due to positive global economic trends and improved economic data of Swiss.
