Nissan reports global auto sales

Japanese automaker Nissan Motor Co. announced that it sold 719'696 vehicles in October-December 2003 period, up by 11.6% compared to 644'816 vehicles recorded in the same period of last year. Nissan's US sales increased by 15.3% to 198'946 units in the aforementioned period from 172'550 units. In Europe, Nissan sold 132'965 units with an increase by 15.1% while in Japan it sold 179'070 units with an increase by 3.6%. Nissan officials expressed that company aims to increase global sales by cost cutting.
