China’s HRC exports to Japan triple

According to the data released by Japan Iron and Steel Federation, China's hot rolled coil exports to Japan in September increased by 33% to 26'547 mts against the figure recorded in the previous month. In the first nine months of the year, China's exports to Japan increased almost by three-fold to 103'949 mts against the figure recorded in the first nine months of 2003. The increase in the exports is attributed to the shortage of hot rolled coils in Japanese market. Moreover, demand for value-added steel products has also increased significantly, which put pressure upon domestic producers to increase imports.
