ZMZ more than doubles steel smelting output in January-July

In the first seven months of this year, Zlatoust Metallurgical Works (ZMZ), a subsidiary of the Russian steel producer ESTAR Holding, increased its commercial grade rolled steel product output by 437 percent to 212,200 mt, from 39,500 mt in January-July 2009. Meanwhile, the plant's steel smelting increased by about 117 percent year on year to 123,500 mt from 57,000 mt in the same period last year.

In July, ZMZ smelted 7,503 mt of steel, produced 31,178 mt of commercial grade rolled steel products, and shipped 30,068 mt of finished steel products, including 366 mt of calibrated steel and 1,678 mt of steel products with special surface finish.
