Zlatoust Metallurgical Works (ZMZ), a subsidiary of the Russian steel producer ESTAR Holding, has announced that in January this year it registered a nine percent decrease in its crude steel production to 20,100 mt, including 12,300 mt of steel produced by open hearth furnace, but saw a 12 percent increase in its rolled steel products output to 24,700 mt, both compared to December 2009.
Meanwhile, during the month in question, ZMZ's deliveries of steel products went up by 11 percent month on month to 23,600 mt, including 484 mt of calibrated steel products - up 21 percent, and 866 mt of steel products with special surface finish - up 118 percent month on month.
According to the company's statement, ZMZ is slowly returning to its traditional range of products, used in machinery, the aircraft industry, and in atomic energy and space. ZMZ is almost fully secured with orders for February.
