West-Siberian Steel Works (ZapSib), a subsidiary of the Russian steel and
iron ore producer Evraz Group, has started
production of a new
rebar type - a thermomechanically treated, cold-resistant
rebar in compliance with strength class Ac500C, in 10-14 mm diameter sizes.
The new type of
rebar is used in the
construction of buildings which require the application of steel of increased strength; for instance, in the building of nuclear and hydroelectric power plants and railway bridges, especially when such constructions are located in climates where temperatures are extremely low or in seismically active zones.
The new type of
rebar shows high strength properties under low temperatures, is dynamic and able to withstand repeated stress loads.
