Zaporizhstal No.2 blast furnace may ramp up BPI production

According to news released by the mill, Ukrainian integrated steel producer Zaporizhstal believes that it may increase its steel making basic pig iron shipments after completion of the No.2 blast furnace, expected to be commissioned by mid October 2004. The mill states that it might be in a position to ship an additional 40'000 mts of BPI per month. The company produces carbon, low-alloy, alloy and stainless steel products, addressing mainly buyers such as welded tube producers, automotive, agricultural, transport, engineering industries, producers of domestic appliances.
