Ukrainian steelmaker Zaporizhstal has announced that its blast furnace No. 2 has been shut down for a complete overhaul.
The company has shut down its 1,513 cubic meter blast furnace No. 2 which has a daily cast iron production of 3,200 mt, for a period of two months. The capital repair in question will cost about UAH 200 million.
The main goals of the capital repair of blast furnace No. 2 include increase of reliability of the blast furnace, improvement of product quality, and increased energy efficiency. The capital repair of the blast furnace also presupposes a significant renewal of the furnace's aspiration system aiming for improvement of the ecological data of the unit.
