Yukun Steel officially launches production at 1,080 m³ blast furnace

Chinese steelmaker Yukun Iron And Steel Group, based in the city of Yuxi in Yunnan Province, has announced that its 1,080 m³ blast furnace officially commenced production operations on August 13.

China 19th Metallurgical Corporation, a subsidiary of state-owned China Metallurgical Group Corporation, carried out the construction work for the 1,080 m³ blast furnace, with construction having started in July 2011. The blast furnace is expected to produce 1,227,000 mt of molten iron per year.
