As announced on April 13 in its 2009 annual report, for the year in question Qinghai Province-based Chinese steelmaker Xining Special Steel registered an operating revenue of RMB 5.186 billion (about $759.6 million), down 25.62 percent compared with 2008, a net profit of RMB 34.7682 million (about $5.1 million), up 314.57 percent year on year, with basic earnings per share of RMB 0.05.
In 2009, the company produced 1.0954 million mt of pig iron, up 18.96 percent, 1.2672 million mt of crude steel, up 10.19 percent, 1.1385 million mt of finished steel, up 9.17 percent, 700,000 mt of iron ore concentrate, down 15.74 percent, 864,000 mt of coal, up 32.98 percent, 720,000 mt of coke, down 0.11 percent - all compared with 2008.
