Xiangtan Steel produces 2 million mt of marine grade steel plate in 2011

Hunan Province-based Chinese steelmaker Xiangtan Iron and Steel Co. (Xiangtan Steel) has said that its total output of marine grade steel plate exceeded 2 million mt in 2011, worth RMB 12 billion ($1.9 billion) in value.

Xiangtan Steel commissioned its five-meter wide steel plate production line in October 2010. As a result, its annual production capacity of wide and heavy steel plate increased to 5 million mt.
