Wuyang Steel wins bidding to supply Lufeng 7-2 oilfield project

Chinese steel producer Wuyang Iron and Steel Co. (Wuyang Steel), a subsidiary of Chinese steel group Hebei Steel Corporation, has announced that it has won the bidding to supply wide steel plate products to the Lufeng 7-2 oilfield project.

The project, owned by China National Offshore Oil Corporation (CNOOC), is located in the Nanhai Zhujiangkou Basin in southern China. The tender in question concerned a total of 19,940 mt of steel plate products, mainly consisting of high grade D36 and D36-Z35 wide plate. Wuyang Steel had been preparing its bid for the project since last October. The parameters of its steel plate samples were all far higher than national standards.
