Wuyang Steel receives approval for new steel plate products

On January 22, Hebei Province-based Chinese steelmaker Hebei Iron and Steel Group announced that the 265 mm S500Q-Z35, 350 mm S355J2-Z35 and 800 MPa WSD690E grades of steel plate produced by its Hebei-based subsidiary Wuyang Iron and Steel Co.(Wuyang Steel) have been approved by experts from the China Iron and Steel Association (CISA). The three steel plate products in question are applied in water turbine generators in giant hydropower stations. Wuyang Steel is the first steelmaker in China to produce these steel plates. It is a leading producer of heavy steel plates in China. So far it has supplied 120,000 mt of steel plate for China's Three Gorges Project.
