German steelmaker Wuppermann Stahl GmbH has adopted a new CVGL (Continuous Vertical Galvanizing Line) process for its hot-dip galvanizing line at Judenburg, Austria.

The CVGL process was developed by German plantmaker SMS Demag and is in line with Wuppermann's goal to develop new zinc alloys.

By adopting the CVGL process, which has the advantage of great flexibility as regards the rapid changing of zinc baths used in the galvanizing process, Wuppermann will be able to test a great variety of Al-Mg-alloyed zinc baths with small volumes of molten metal at very short time intervals, and, in this way, determine the best product range obtainable from this examination of alloys.
