Worthington Industries to increase cold rolled strip production with acquisition

Worthington Industries announced Thursday that it has agreed to acquire Rome, New York-based Rome Strip Steel Company, Inc., which produces cold rolled strip primarily for automotive end-use. Sales in 2013 for the company reached $70 million.

The acquisition is expected increase Worthington’s production capacity for both cold rolled strip specifically, and its entire product range.

Financial terms of the deal were not divulged.
